Frequently Asked Questions

Please don't hesitate to call or contact us with any questions you may have!

  • Why Cedar Ridge?

What is going to be so great about Cedar Ridge? What makes Cedar Ridge different?

ALL OF THE THINGS THAT WE DON'T HAVE!!

Its so important to note the things that we DON'T HAVE.

No rows of cabins, one after another. Everyone has ample space to themselves!

No looking at parked vehicles! Who wants to have a view of trucks and suvs? Parking is limited to areas away from our cabins and tents meaning that your nature retreat isn't ruined by parking lots.

No crowds at camp. There are only 10 private units spread out over nearly 20 acres.

No crowds on the river. South Fork Spring River is very quiet. You could paddle, float and/or fish all day without seeing another group? That stands in stark contrast to Spring River with more crowds and noise.

No nearby public venues, traffic, housing, services,  etc. We are completely remote.

No city lights. No city problems. :)

ALL OF THE THINGS THAT WE DO HAVE!

It's definitely all about what we do offer as well:

open spaces, river and valley views, quiet settings, well equipped tiny homes and glamping tents, nature trails, comfortable beds, kayak rentals and/or shuttle services, firepits and cooking areas with equipment, inclusive amenities so that you can pack light, complete services so you can enjoy it all without the normal frustrations of "camping" and also the cool factor of, and being able to, experience what its like to be completely off-grid!

  • What does off-grid mean?

Off-grid just means we are not using city utilities for power or water. We have invested much to provide solar and battery power and we filter rain water for showering and washing. You'll want to bring your own drinking water.

  • Are there toilets?

We have bathhouses with hot showers and composting toilets. Also some units are, or can be, equipped with a “midnight toilet”. Simply put, an emergency toilet for middle of the night requirements for those that don’t want to walk to the bathhouse. Just request a “midnight toilet” in your comments/requests.

  • What is a composting toilet?

The use of organic material (cedar chips usually) over waste instead of flushing with water. Its not nearly as big an issue that some believe it is. Everything remains exactly the same that you are used to except that when it's time to flush, you will instead dump a scoop of aromatic cedar chips into the toilet instead of using precious water. Presto! All done! No mess. No smell.

  • What is included in the units?

Tiny House Cabins: Fully furnished with bed and bedding, bath towels, off grid kitchenette with coffee pot, coffee supplies, microwave, efficient dorm style fridge, propane heater, OFF GRID, efficient Air Conditioning, a fire pit with 2 chairs, some basic cooking utensils, Firepit and/or grill cooking hardware table with chairs, and more! Tents: bedding, bath towels, French press and kettle, propane cooktop, propane heater for cold nights, fire pit with 2 chairs. Table and chairs, grill and/or firepit cooking hardware, solar charged battery power for small electrical needs (charging phones, mobile electronics, etc),

  • Are pets allowed?

Yes, absolutely! We love pets. Please keep on leash or tie outs to keep them close.

  • Are we handicap accessible?

No! This is a remote, hilly, rocky terrain.

  • What should we pack that is not included?

Flashlight, bug spray, drinking water, food, ice, cooler, river shoes, dry bags, sunblock, extra camp chairs, etc along with normal traveling needs.

  • Do you provide firewood?

Yes, mix of hardwoods and cedar is available for purchase at a minimal cost to cover our labor to cut, chop, deliver and stack.

  • What is there to do?

UNPLUG, UNWIND, RELAX, RECONNECT WITH EACH OTHER AND NATURE. READ A

BOOK, KAYAK, SWIM, FISH, PLAY OUTDOOR GAMES, COOK OUTDOORS, HIKE,
